HO PA at Niles

On Friday, December 26, 2025, at the Tri-City Society of Model Engineers (TCSME) model railroad club in the historic Niles depot in Fremont, CA, my HO scale Rapido Southern Pacific (SP) PA-2 6044 was resting at Livermore Station.
The real SP 6044 was an ALCo PA-2. Reportedly: It was built in 1953, serial number 80844, SP class DF-11. In 1965 it was reclassified to SP Class AP620A-5. It was retired in 1967.

UP Huntinton Sub Stack Train

A Union Pacific (UP) all EMD powered 5+0 stack train (4567, 4797, 8544, 4528, and 5215) is headed east after a meet at Sago along the Antelope Creek Valley towards North Powder, Oregon on June 10, 2007. This is east of LaGrande, OR.
UP 4567 is an EMD SD70M. Reportedly: it was built in 2001 serial number 996168-37.

Westbound at Boca

Southern Pacific (SP) 9320 was at Boca, CA, climbing westbound toward Truckee, CA with SD45 8920, an SD40 and another SD45T-2 on Sunday, July 20, 1975.
JS said, "That shot on Donner is the old station site of Boca, CA." WAF said, "(The) one at Boca on Donner is the RGRVY. The block of coiled steel on the head end is the giveaway."
SP 9320 was an EMD SD45T-2, SP Class EF636-12. Reportedly: SP 9320 was built in 1974, builders number 73630-06. It upgraded in 1988 emerging as SP 6836 SP Class EF636R-8. The disposition of this locomotive is, renumbered out of original SP sequence; rebuilt to 3000 hp SD40-2T by VMV in 1998-1999; renumbered to UP 4820, then UP 2852. Retired by UP in 2008.

Union Pacific (UP) 4567 led an eastbound 4+0 stack train meeting a westbound 3+1 manifest (with 5626, 3212 4213 + 5631) at Sago, OR, on Sunday, June 10, 2007. UP 5631 was shoving hard on the back.
UP 5626 is a GE AC4400CW. Reportedly it is UP Designation C44ACCTE, built in 2004, builders number 55219.

Metro North Commuter Railroad (MNCR) 2003 was approaching Peekskill, NY, on Friday, June 30, 1995, with a commute train bound for New York City.
MNCR 2003, was an EMD FL9. Reportedly, it was built as NH 2017 in 1957, Serial Number 21963. Reporting marks and numbers said to be associated with this locomotive include MNCR 2003, MNCR 506, MNCR 5017, CR 5017, PC 5017, and NH 2017. Reportedly, after being retired this locomotive was scrapped.

ALCo C-415 at Mouse Creek

On Saturday, December 13, 2025, my Bowser HO Model of Southern Pacific (SP) 2400 crossing Mouse Creek on the California Central Model Railroad Club (CCMRC) in the historic Agnew depot in Santa Clara, CA.
The real SP 2400 was an ALCo C-415, SP Class AS415-1. Reportedly: it was built in 1966 builder's number 3458-1. Sold in 1977 to Fundidora Monterrey a steel mill in Monterrey, Mexico with some other C-415s.

A Union Pacific (UP) 4+2 eastbound manifest was meeting a westbound 5+0 manifest on the Huntington Subdivision near the Pritchard Creek Horseshoe (a.k.a. the Leonard Horseshoe and/or Durkee Loop) near Durkee, OR, on Monday, June 11, 2007. Power on the eastbound was UP 5438, CEFX 7088, UP 3964, 4017 + 5593, 5641.
UP 5438 is a GE ES44AC in the 5353-5553 series, UP Designation AC45CCTE/C45AC-CTE. Reportedly it was built in 2005 builders number 55594.

SP U30C in Oakland

On Thursday, August 8, 1974, SP 7909 sat in the power pool at the West Oakland Diesel Shop in West Oakland, CA. According to Wesley Fox, "the other U30C was 7901. This pair brought in the LAOAT (373) that morning and has been turned to go out on the OALAT (374) that evening." 
SP 7909 is a GE U30C, SP Class GF630-1. Reportedly: it was built in 1968, builders number 36629. It was retired in 1984 and scrapped.

SP 7604 in Roseville

Cotton Belt 7604 was sitting in the power pool with U33C 8698 in Roseville on an unknown date 1978.
SSW 7604 was an EMD GP40, SP Class EF430C-1. Reportedly it was built in 1966, builders number 31487. This locomotive was upgraded in 1982 emerging as SP 7962 a model GP40R, SP Class EF430CR-1. It was assigned Union Pacific number 1442, repainted in 2005, classed by UP as a GP40-2. It was renumbered to UP 1335 in 2008. Reportedly still in service by UP in 2014.
