F-M Switcher at Mission Bay

Click Photo To Enlarge

Southern Pacific (SP) Fairbanks-Morse (F-M) H-12-44 2358 was in Mission Bay Yard in San Francisco in late summer 1974.
SP 2358 was an F-M H-12-44, SP Class FS412-2. Reportedly: it was built in 1953 as SP 1531, SP Class DS-117, F-M construction number 12-L-762. It was retired in 1975. You can see some of the differences between this order and the previous order of SP F-M switchers. The curved trim is gone and the battery boxes are square and ventilated. This was the only F-M switcher class that came MU equipped.
