Caltrain Train 416 at College Park

At about 5 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at College Park in San Jose, CA, Caltrain southbound train 416 approached San Jose. This train had the Caltrain (JPBX) Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) 334-333 trainset.
JPBX 333 & 334 are Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) Cab Cars. This is part of an order Caltrain placed in 2016 with Stadler US for the construction of 16 bi-level electric multiple unit trains.

Meet at College Park

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at College Park in San Jose, CA, southbound Caltrain train 144 met northbound/eastbound F40PH-3C powered Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) train ACE08. Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) Cab Car Caltrain JPBX 328 was on the point of train 144 and ACEX 3104 and 3102 were shoving on the rear of train ACE08.

Freight at College Park

At 6 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at College Park in San Jose, CA, Union Pacific (UP) 1001, 1338 and 1495 led a northbound UP freight. I am not sure if this was a Salinas or Mission Bay Turn or something else?
UP 1001 is a GMLG GP60. Reportedly it was built in 1994 as SP 9793, SP Class EF438-3. Another former number said to be associated with this locomotive is UP 2093.

On Monday, October 26, 2026, at College Park in San Jose, CA, Caltrain northbound train 143 sped to San Francisco. This train had the Caltrain (JPBX) Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) 315-316 trainset.
JPBX 315 is an Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) Cab Car. This is part of an order Caltrain placed in 2016 with Stadler US for the construction of 16 bi-level electric multiple unit trains.

On Friday, August 7, 2026, at 1:45 p.m., a BNSF 3+2 southbound manifest was at Tunnel 2 between Caliente and Bealville west of Tehachapi, CA. Power on this train was 6085, 8112, 6949 + 7707, 7617.

• BNSF 6085 is a ES44AC. Reportedly it was built in 2006, serial number 57060.
• BNSF 7707 is a ES44DC. Reportedly it was built in 2005, serial number 55767.
• BNSF 7617 is a ES44DC. Reportedly it was built in 2005, serial number 56208.

At 10:15 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, a BNSF 2+0 southbound stack train was north of Mojave, CA. The power on this train was 6697 and 8074.
BNSF 6697 is a GE ES44C4. Reportedly it was built in 2011, serial number 60367.

SP 8428 in Roseville

On Friday, March 14, 1975, Southern Pacific (SP) SD40 8428 was leading SD45 9154, in Roseville, CA.
SP 8428 was an EMD SD40. It reportedly was built in 1966, construction number 31509, SP class EF630-1. It was rebuilt in 1981 into 7344, SP Class EF630R-2. It was sold in 1999 to Boise Locomotive Company and rebuilt into an SD40M-2. Other owners and numbers said associated with this locomotive include: GCFX 3109, CITX 3109, CEFX 3109.
