LAL 418 is an ALCo RS36. Reportedly it was built in 1962, builders number 83697, as NKP 865. Reporting marks and numbers associated with this locomotive are said to include ONCT 418 and NW 2865. Locomotive wrecked in 2019 and retired.

UP 659 is an EMD GP40. Reportedly: it was built in 1966, builders number 31671, as Western Pacific 3510, WP Class RS-68. Renumbered to UP in 1984. Retired 1993. Rebuilt by MK as GP40-3 KCS GP40R 4773, then KCS 2814, then rebuilt by EMD as a GP22ECO.

On Tuesday, April 8, 2008, Union Pacific (UP) ran a special train on the former SP coast line powered by UP 6936. We started following it from Elkhorn Slough, south of Watsonville CA and followed it to Santa Clara, CA. The train passes the historic Agnew Depot, the home of California Central Model Railroad Club.
UP 6936 is an EMD DDA40X. Reportedly: it was built in 1971 by EMD builders number 35510.

The NSW Rail Museum is the main railway museum in New South Wales, Australia. A division of Transport Heritage NSW, it was previously known as the New South Wales Rail Transport Museum (NSWRTM), Rail Heritage Centre and Trainworks.
